Thank you for taking an interest in this educational tuition services program. Many schools have their own in-house music teaching staff. Those that do not, or are over-subscribed, may wish to take advantage of tuition services on offer to give your students the chance to learn a musical instrument with professional, experienced tutors.
Peripatetic music teachers operating from Booths are all fully CRB/ DBS checked and work with school children of every age group in a professional capacity. Tutors are experienced with children from absolute beginner level up to grade eight and beyond.
WHICH EXAMINIATION BOARDS ARE FOLLOWED?
Whilst not a necessity, pupils are naturally encouraged down the exam route. Tutors offer the hugely popular Rockschool exams, that lead to a recognised qualification with grades from debut to grade eight (the latter grades bringing valuable UCAS points). This board is preferred as it utilises popular music genres to build interest and enthusiasm with students towards their chosen instrument. It is also a perfect introduction to modern music courses. Other exam boards such as ABRSM, Trinity College and London College of Music are of course available with our tuition services.
WHAT INSTRUMENTS ARE COVERED?
Guitar, bass guitar, drum kit, vocal and piano are all covered by Rockschool and our tuition team. All instruments, including orchestral, are covered across the various exam boards.
IS THERE AN EXAM?
Yes. Rockschool exams are operated from our official exam centre within the Booths in-house studio in Bolton town centre. Exam periods are generally conducted three times every year (A,B & C) with a variable number of days set aside for students to sit their exam in the comfortable surroundings of the centre. Exams with ABRSM, Trinity and other boards can also be organised.
WHO WILL SUPPLY THE INSTRUMENTS?
Booths Music will supply your school with the relevant instruments for the duration of the program. If any students or your organisation wish to purchase their instrument to take away and practice at home (recommended), we can offer substantial discount of the RRP. Music and accessories will also be supplied to pupils with discount. This should enable the program to be accessable to most students.
HOW DO THE TUITION SERVICES WORK?
As with our on-site tuition, all lessons are conducted on a one-to-one basis to ensure maximum productivity. Lessons are 20 minutes long per student and will be held at a regular time every week. Cost per lesson is £10.00 per student. Initially, a minumum of three students per subject is required.
Students are encouraged to be entered into exams at an adequate grade at least once per two-term period. Every tutor aims for a 100% pass rate with exam students and full support will be available to students outside lesson times.
ADDED BENEFITS TO BOOTHS TUITION SERVICES
Booths strives to bring a modern approach to in-school tuition with its teaching content as well as its general operation. This includes a new teacher-parent liaison service online here at tuition.boothsmusic.co.uk. On this platform, parents of music pupils may check weekly progress and easily contact their teachers on a secure and monitored system. As mentioned above, another added benefit is the supply of instruments and accessories at discounted prices thanks to our long-established history in music.
